’Shy’ is an interactive sculpture, which reacts to the movements of the spectator. Powered by a servo motor, and triggered by a motion sensor, the work detects when a spectator is approaching and reacts to the curious exhibition visitor. The work intends to be present in a space, but it wished to remain unseen. ’Shy’ refers to personality traits, but also to the impossibility of seeing something as it truly was intended.
